Jennifer Reynolds Lial's daughter Parker, 7, a student at the Hugh Cole School in Warren, suffers from a peanut allergy. Last year, Mrs. Lial was speaking with another Hugh Cole parent whose daughter has the same allergy, and learned that contracted bus drivers — like those in the Bristol Warren Regional School District, which contracts with First Student for busing services — are not required to be trained in the use and administration of epinephrine.
Union 'cash mob' descends on Imagine
The teachers, all members of the NEARI (National Education Association, Rhode Island chapter), Rhode Island Federation of Teachers and Health Professionals, and other unions, were part of a "cash mob" that descended on several area businesses. It's all part of a statewide union campaign designed to encourage union members to support local business.
