Bristol man arrested in NYC

Threatens to blow up WTC

— A 41 year-old Bristol man, according to published news reports, was arrested in New York City on Monday, after making threats to blow up One World Trade Center.

Brian Hunter, who works as a computer programmer, allegedly tried to skip out on his bill after a stay at W Hotel in New York. When confronted by authorities, Mr. Hunter allegedly made the threat, saying, “I’m going to place a bomb in One World Trade Center and blow it up so it will fall over onto another building because I do not approve of it.”

The building he referred to is currently under construction, formally known as Freedom Tower. It will be the lead building of the new world trade center in NYC.

According to one report, New York police do not believe Mr. Hunter to be a credible threat, however, he is being held for psychiatric evaluation.

Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
