BRISTOL — Tyler Murgo, a Mt. Hope High School senior, was recently named to the California-based Freebord Pro Team.
Freebording is a sport that uses a modified skateboard that allows riders to mimic the sport of snowboarding on dry land.
Tyler, who was named the 2011 Standout Rider of the Year by the group, was one of eight riders selected internationally to join the pro team.
He will be featured in a commercial aired on Fuel TV and has posted short videos of the sport on the online video-sharing forum, Vimeo.
