To the editor: The recent ongoing proposals to add tolls to the Mt. Hope and/or the new Sakonnet River Bridge, while increasing the Newport bridge tolls, begs the general question of where do the funds/revenue go that are collected with the gas tax, which are supposed to fund these infrastructure upkeep items.

To the editor: Regarding Governor Chafee’s tax proposals, I find it hard to believe that people who can afford and enjoy a $40 restaurant meal plus a $4 to $6 tip, often rounded to the nearest dollar, would forgo that dinner if they had to pay an extra 80 cents in tax to help with the state’s financial problems.
