Eugenia (Gomes) Borges, 81, of Mason Avenue, Bristol, passed away on Feb. 6, 2012. She was the wife of the late John Borges.
Born in Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Andrade) Gomes.
She attended Bristol schools, and was employed as a machine operator for Premier Thread for 29 years, before retiring.
She is survived by her children, Richard Bouthiette of Coventry, Mary Jane Jeffries of Seekonk, and Joseph Borges of Connecticut; stepsons, John Borges of California, and Robert Borges of Nevada; grandchildren, Edward Alan Bouthiette, Christopher Bouthiette, Michele Bouthiette, Carl Bouthiette and Ann Garrido; step-grandchildren, Kelly Dixon, Melissa Borges and Michele Borges; 12 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kathleen Lopes and Edward “Alan” Bouthiette, great-great-grandmother of the late Joseph Rioux, and sister of the late Joseph Gomes, Mary Chafins, Elsie Fitzgerald and Manuel Gomes.
Funeral services will be held Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Church. Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.
