Marie A. (Stanley) Foss Teixeira, 70, of 387 High St., Bristol, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Joseph T. Teixeira Jr., her husband of 29 years.
Born in Attleboro, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Helen (Nelligan) Stanley. A resident of Bristol for 29 years, she previously resided in Portsmouth and North Attleboro, Mass., and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School.
Marie was a school bus monitor for First Student Transportation and the former Laidlaw Transportation in Warren for 25 years. Marie could never believe she was getting paid by them for all the enjoyment she has had over the years with her co-workers and the many wonderful students she was with every day. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Bristol. She was well known for her love and collection of hats, and was never without one.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, James K. Foss and Janice K. Morse, both of Warwick, Judy K. Ryder and her husband Bob of Attleboro, Mass.; three step-children, Elizabeth L. Coutu and her husband Mike of Swansea, Catherine T. Ryckebusch and her husband Matthew of New Bedford, and Rachel Teixeira and her companion Alex Cobos of Colorado Springs, C.O.; 10 grandchildren, Ricky, Sara, Emily, Jennifer, Sam, Johnny, Isabella, Natasha, Maximus and Myles; a great-granddaughter, Jaelyn; and a brother, William Stanley and his wife Cindy of Lincoln.
Funeral services are Monday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. Visiting hours are 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
