Jose F. Ferro, 81, of Bristol, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at home. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Sousa) Ferro.
Born in São Miguel, Povação, he was the son of the late Joao and Maria (Melo) Ferro. He was a carpenter for Pearson Yachts, before retiring from Aspects. He was a member of St. Dominic’s Church.
He was father of Lena Greene of Seekonk, Carol Talbot of Tiverton and John S. Ferro of North Kingstown; brother of Theresa Ferro of Tiverton and Dennis Ferro of Warren; grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of four. He was also the brother of the late Gilberto and Manuel Ferro and Almerinda Araujo.
Arrangements were for a funeral on Feb. 13 with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, and in St. Dominic’s Church, Swansea. Interment were in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bristol.
